The Social Worker’s primary function is to provide diagnostic evaluations of the psychosocial problems of the patient/family unit, define Social Work goals for alleviating these problems and help provide the counseling/casework to meet these goals as they relate to Acute Care.

**Job Requirements**

Master’s degree and PA license in Social Work required and minimum of one year of Social Work experience in a health care setting.

**Physical Standards**:
**Constantly**:(Exists 75% or more of the time) Walking; lifting and carrying 0-5 lbs.

**Frequently**:(Exists 25-75% of the time) Standing; sitting w/back support; operating machinery; exposure to radiation.

**Occasionally**:(Exists 5- 25% of the time) Reaching (overhead, forward, lateral, low); climbing; twisting; lifting and carrying 5-25 lbs.; pushing and pulling 5-15 lbs.

**Rarely**:(Exists under 5% of the time) Stooping (bend at waist); crouching (bend at knees); kneeling; balance; pushing and pulling 15-40 lbs.; exposure to chemical hazards, infect hazards, slippery surfaces.

**Sensory Requirements Visual**: close paperwork, VDT used; Hearing: conversation, telephone, background noise.
