The Academic Support & Advocacy Center (ASA) provides students with holistic, collaborative, and timely support to achieve their academic goals, stay on track for degree completion, and connect with resources outside of the classroom to feel supported by the WCU community.

Reporting to the Director of Academic Support & Advocacy,** **the Assistant Director of Enrollment Support serves provides strategic direction for enrollment support strategies; manages operations and collaborates with campus partners to successfully support student progression and graduation students; and supervises a team of student success coordinators (SSC) to assist students with class selection and registration. This position trains and supports SSCs in their work responding to student progress alerts, supporting course enrollment, fostering trusting relationships with students, referring students to services, and collaborating with faculty. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with university faculty and chairs to design and implement differentiated enrollment support strategies to support student success and retention.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Lead day-to-day efforts of professional student Success Coordinators (SSC) in support of student academic success and progress
- Ensure SCCs have the information, resources and support necessary to support students
- Provide professional development, build collaboration and redundancy among the team, foster professional growth, and promote an environment of accountability and professionalism, and mentorship
- Foster an environment of trust with Academic Affairs Trusting Teams statement
- Develop, maintain, and execute regular production calendar for supporting student enrollment, retention, and success
- Collaborate with faculty and others to design and implement differentiated enrollment support strategies within academic disciplines.
- Serve as an advocate for the student experience by understanding challenges, and prioritizing improvements to streamline the student experience
- Develop, maintain, and execute regular production calendar for supporting student enrollment, retention and success including student outreaches, campaigns and programs and faculty and staff communications and training
- Assess effectiveness of campaigns and programs to make recommendations on resource allocation
- Institute regular assessments of support services, SCCs, and programs
- Collaborate with campus partners including the Registrar, Bursar, Financial Aid, University College, and LARC to design and improve the student enrollment and support experience
- Provide feedback on opportunities to better serve students based on a deep understanding of the WCU student experience
- Remain informed on trends, opportunities, and risk within higher education student support
- Contribute to University commitment to close all student success equity gaps
- Represent the university in compliance with federal and institutional policies and guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
- Other duties as assigned

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree
- Two (2) years of experience supervising, mentoring, and/or training
- Three (3) years of experience supporting student enrollment and retention

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Master's degree in counseling, social work, education, or related field
- Experience coordinating events, activities, initiatives, and communications to support student engagement
- Experience collecting and analyzing data for program assessment and evaluation
- Experience with FERPA, confidentiality of student records, and student record keeping policies
