Purchasing Manager

**Job Overview**

**Summary of Position**

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Purchasing with all purchasing and projects needs related to the Maybourne Hotel.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Job duties include, although are not limited to:_
- Assist with developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
- Assist with managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.
- Organize and maintain the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
- Facilitate and coordinate with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.
- Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Assist with research and preparing cost estimates for all purchasing related needs and projects.
- Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.
- Assist with training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system Birchstreet.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Purchasing management experience preferred.
- Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Apps (Word/ Excel)
- Must be proficient in Birchstreet Procurement System
- Accubar knowledge a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
