**ABOUT THE ORANGE COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT**
The Orange County Superior Court is the third largest court of general jurisdiction in California. We have courthouses throughout the county, including locations in Orange, Westminster, Fullerton, Newport Beach, and Santa Ana. We have a staff of about 1,500 and an operating budget of nearly $200 million. The Court's Judges, Commissioners and employees are recognized for their high standards of achievement, integrity, and diversity. **ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**
Under the direction of the Court Interpreter Manager, the Court Interpreter Supervisor coordinates and supervises court-wide Language Access Services (LAS) activities. The incumbent supervises LAS coordinators, court-employed interpreters, and provides oversight over interpreters who are independently contracted. The Court Interpreter Supervisor reviews, interprets and enforces the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding for California Federation of Interpreters (CFI) and Orange County Employees Association (OCEA) unions. The incumbent communicates frequently with judicial officers and staff at various levels court-wide, including but not limited to court clerks, court attendants, and managers. The Court Interpreter Supervisor supports various LAS-led projects and initiatives, as well as participates in various meetings.

The following are some representative duties:
Plans and implements methods for accomplishing work objectives; approves work assignments; establishes, prioritizes, and coordinates work schedules; reviews and approves time sheets; reviews work of subordinate staff and provides assistance and guidance

Conducts performance evaluations and provides routine feedback on performance to staff; recommends and/or implements disciplinary action when required; prepares agendas, plans, and conducts regular meetings with staff to disseminate information; provides leadership and responds to staff needs and concerns
- . Trains staff and promotes opportunities for career development; provides encouragement and maintains employee morale; maintains a positive work environment
- . Reviews statutes, legislation, rules, regulations, and policies and recommends procedural changes; develops and implements strategies for change; identifies opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures and reviews with appropriate management staff; implements improvements; participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities, and identifies service needs
- . Assists the public and other court users in understanding court policies, processes, and procedures; responds to inquiries, suggestions, commendations, and complaints regarding services
- . Works closely with judicial officers, management, and other supervisors; attends meetings and work-related functions; may assume additional responsibilities for special projects or in the manager's or other supervisors' absence

**Minimum Qualifications**:
**REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:
**OPTION I**
One (1) year of full time (or equivalent) supervisory experience in a trial court with directly related work experience and knowledge of case processing and/or court practices.

**OPTION II**
Three (3) years of full time (or equivalent) experience as a **Superior Court Clerk II** or higher level related classification (such as Program Coordinator Specialist or Judicial Assistant) with comparable experience in a trial court
