**JOB SUMMARY**:

- Engage students with a strong working knowledge of high school social studies curriculum
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed
- Integrate the hallmarks of project-based learning including connecting authentic work to the community and public displays and connections of student processes and products
- Possess a proven ability to teach and interact effectively with students and their families who represent cultures that are diverse
- Recognize trauma’s impact on the brain and how to support and be responsive to all learners
- Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
- Collaborate with department and grade-level peers in professional learning teams
- **Certification: Social Studies 7-12**
