**Job Description**:
Assists the Safety and Security Administrator in managing the County's Safety and Security Programs and Systems. Conducts internal workplace investigations as needed. Coordinates and conducts/assists in Safety and Security training for all Supervisors and employees. Conducts Safety and Security assessments throughout the County and assists in Safety and Security protocol implementation and management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Assists in the management of the County's Security Plan including security-related infrastructure implementation, operation, and maintenance. Ensures adherence to established protocols, policy implementation, and addresses security concerns expressed by staff and visitors, or identified through on-site assessments.- Conducts preliminary investigations of Safety and Security incidents as directed and implement appropriate action.- Identifies training needs for employees and prepares (or assists in preparation of) programs to meet specific County-wide and/or employee needs.- Assists with self-inspections, audits, and security inspections.- Assists in the management of the Access Control system including administrative and record keeping functions including but not limited to keys, electronic access, video surveillance systems etc.- Recommends policies and procedures, as well as operational security measures that reduce risk and exposure; assists in developing and revising procedures.- Conducts workplace investigations for Human Resources, Risk Management, and County Attorney's Office.- Become sufficiently familiar with the County's Worker Compensation Program to act as a "back-up" to the Safety and Security Administrator as needed.- Coordinates with local authorities as necessary to ensure continuity during a crisis event.- Performs other related job duties as assigned.- In the event of special, emergency, or disaster situations, employee may be required to work schedules other than those for which they are regularly scheduled in any capacity deemed appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
Associate degree preferred in Criminal Justice, Occupational Safety, Corporate Security, and/or Corporate Security Certification. 3 years minimum of prior related work experience; minimum of 2 years sworn law enforcement or corporate security experience preferred.

Special Qualifications:
None.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to organize work around broad organizational goals and processes. My supervisor oversees my activities through regular meetings.- Ability to perform professional-level work dealing with data, people, and technology that relates to administrative, technical, scientific, engineering, accounting, legal, or managerial skills.- Ability to make decisions that govern my activities as well as others. My decisions impact how our unit provides services and support to internal and external customers.- Ability to work regularly with other managers to successfully meet the goals and objectives of our organization.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is medium and requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
- Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. The amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.- Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.-
