**JOB TITLE**: Summer Event and Clerical Aide

**CLASSIFICATION**: Hourly (Part-Time - Seasonal)

**REPORTS TO**: Director of Instructional Services

**SUPERVISES**: Not applicable

This position is a temporary summer position offering no benefits. Retirement through the Office of Retirement Services (Pension Plus or Defined Contribution) for those who qualify.

**SALARY RANGE**:
This position is paid $13 per hour.

**GENERAL JOB FUNCTION**:
The Summer Event and Clerical Aide will support set up, monitoring, and closing of events taking place within the MAISD District at any MAISD building where events may take place. This employee will also support updating the MAISD art collection and completing warehouse inventory.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Currently enrolled in high school or in possession of a high school diploma or its equivalent. Minimum age of 16.
- Possession of excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Possession of excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- An ability to prioritize and address multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Ability to travel to buildings.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Ability to work both in a team setting and independently.
- Experience in customer service or event services

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**:

- Support administrative assistant staff including phone and reception functions, setting up events, checking in with presenters, and refreshing supplies.
- Provides a range of direct assistance to the assigned staff.
- Support for meetings, workshops, professional development sessions
- Accepts responsibility for the coordination and facilitation of assigned special projects.
- Accepts responsibility for maintaining necessary rules of confidentiality.

**NOTABLE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**:
Occasional light to moderate lifting may be required. Normal office environment.

**OPPORTUNITY FOR ADVANCEMENT**:
**TYPICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT**:
Most work is done in a typical office environment. Occasional errands and other assignments may be required in other building areas or elsewhere in the community. Administrative Assistants may be assigned to any MAISD department at any of its facilities in the District service area.

**EVALUATION**:
Employees in this classification are evaluated prior to the completion of probationary status and according to Board policy and guidelines thereafter.

**TRAVEL/OVERTIME EXPECTATIONS**:
Travel is normally confined to occasional errands in the community.

**PAY STRUCTURE**:
This is a part time, seasonal position. Employee should expect 18 - 28 assigned hours per week, with most time falling within the hours of 8am - 4pm.
