**Payroll Specialist (Healthcare)**:
**Gaithersburg, MD**:
Interim HealthCare - Montgomery County & Southern MD is seeking a **Payroll Specialist with experience in a Healthcare setting **to join our team in **Gaithersburg, Maryland.** The Payroll Specialist will be **responsible for processing and managing payroll for all employees within the franchise, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments**. This is a **full-time** individual contributor role within the Accounting & Finance department. **2+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a healthcare or franchise setting.**

**Compensation & Benefits**:
The Payroll Specialist role offers a competitive salary of $45,000 to $50,000 per year, paid biweekly. **Responsibilities**:

- Process payroll for employees using payroll software, accurately and timely
- Review and verify timecards, attendance records, and changes in pay rates for accuracy
- Calculate and process deductions including taxes, insurance, and retirement contributions
- Ensure compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws
- Maintain accurate employee records and payroll data, including new hire information and changes in employee status
- Respond to employee inquiries and resolve any payroll-related issues
- Work with external vendors such as benefits providers to ensure accurate and timely payments
- Generate and distribute payroll reports as needed
- Assist with year-end reporting and tax filing
- Participate in audits and ensure all payroll documentation is accurate and available for review
- Stay up-to-date with any changes in payroll laws and regulations

**Requirements**:

- High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
- **2+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a healthcare or franchise setting**:

- Working knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with payroll software, such as **ADP or Paychex**:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

**Preference**:Familiarity with ADP, Matrix Care, Microsoft Office**
