FEE FOR SERVICE RATE- SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR

**Position Overview**:

- Seeking Full Time, Part Time and Fee For Service Substance Abuse Counselor with Genesis House. This is a clinical position involving the engagement of clientele in a therapeutic relationship with the goal of fostering cognitive and behavioral change to improve overall client functioning.- Conduct intake screening/assessments and make appropriate treatment recommendations based on ASAM level of care assessment; including but not limited to referrals to inpatient treatment level of care, community services or applicable resources or treatment as identified by biopsychosocial assessment.
- Schedule and conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions in person or via electronic platform.
- Participate in clinical consultations with treatment team on a weekly basis.
- Coordinate clinical treatment with referral sources.
- Complete all required case management as set by company policy and funding source requirements.
- Facilitate communication that may include communication between billing, Utilization review, Accounting and Clinical departments with the organization.
- Represent agency within the community in a professional manner.
- Collect co-pay, deductibles, and co-insurance payments, record and submit to Accounting department.
- Other duties as assigned by Clinical Director.
- Must be able to operate a computer, fax machine, telephone system, and video equipment.

PAY RATE: Fee for Service pay rates for counseling & Admin work

**Education and/or Experience**

A **Master’s Degree or above** from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field which includes a practicum in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting, **OR** a** **Bachelor’s Degree** from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field and 1 year of clinical experience (a minimum of 1,820 hours) in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting, **OR** an **Associate’s Degree** from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field and 2 years of clinical experience (a minimum of 3,640 hours) in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting. If a person’s experience is not in a drug and alcohol setting, the individual’s written training plan shall specifically address a plan to achieve counseling competency in chemical dependency issues.

**Technical Skills**

To perform this job successfully, the employee should have strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook). Must have the ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.

**This position qualifies for a $1,000 sign-on bonus.**

**Bonus is paid in $500 increments at 3 months and 6 months from date of hire for employees with positive evaluation.
