Brunkow Cheese is an open-vat/artisanal-style cheese factory that prides themselves on maintaining a supportive, family-type atmosphere. We enjoy exploring new ventures, creating new products, and continually finding ways of making every product we produce of higher quality.

We are looking for someone to join us as a **part-time** production employee.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Participate in the making of Brun-uusto, our baked cheese in our open style vats. This includes preparing forms, operating equipment, draining whey, shoveling, salting/adding ingredients, hooping, and pressing cheese. This must be done in a manner that attains optimal yield and does not cause production downtime.
- Keep accurate and legible recordings of make data and sanitation procedures.
- Assist in cleaning and sanitizing vats, forms, racks, tables, and any other product surfaces as needed.
- CIP milk & whey silos and product lines as needed. Moreso in the absence of other employees.
- Affinage of cave-aged cheeses; washing, flipping, brushing, and monitoring.
- Work as a food safety team-member, ensure that products manufactured are consistently of high quality and are handled in a way that maintains a strict food safety protocol.
- Work as a plant safety team-member, ensure that yourself and other employees are performing their day-to-day duties in a manner compliant with general plant and chemical safety protocols.
- Currently offering a position working 2-3 days/week with the **potential** for an increase in days/hours in the busier seasons if desired.

Qualification/Requirements:

- Preferred: 1+ years’ experience in food manufacturing
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent skills by experience
- Detail oriented
- Able to complete tasks on your own
- Work well with others
- Ability to direct others as needed
- Must be able to verbally communicate, understand, write, read, and interpret in the English language
