Responsibilities for hazardous materials technician
- Comply with our clients, OHSA and our internal health and safety procedures / protocols.
- Respond to and participate in spill response cleanup at our customers sites (both non-hazardous and hazardous), under the direction of a supervisor.
- Assist with response to indoor air quality incidents.
- Participate in general remediation and industrial cleaning projects.
- Segregate and package waste into hazard classes for off-site disposal.
- Ensures work area maintained in a neat and orderly manner.
- Conduct waste stream sampling.
- Load / unload materials for recycling.
- Segregate, cut up, and stage materials for recycling.
- Must be available for on call shifts during weekdays and one weekend a month.

Qualifications for hazardous materials technician
- Must be over 21 years old.
- Good verbal communication, reading and writing skills.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Pass and annual physical (paid for by the company).
- The willingness and ability to work nights and weekends.
- Work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to perform various physical labor activities, including lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy objects. (Frequently lifting and/or moving items 50+ pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving items 75+ pounds.)
- Using a dolly or a drum cart to manipulate and move items up to 400 pounds.

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 45 per week
