**General Description**:
This position will be responsible for animal care for animals housed at the Loudoun Campus - Department of Veterinary Technology: Dogs, Cats, Rabbits, Rats and Mice.
**Duties and Tasks**:

- Feeding, exercising, medicating, and cleaning cages and runs for all animals housed with the Veterinary Technology Program.
- Maintaining all areas of the kennel in a clean and orderly fashion. Upkeep of laundry/bedding for animals.
- Working with animals from the shelter and monitoring and reporting any abnormal behavior and indications of illness.
- Filling out daily records and medication record.
- Inventory monitoring and restocking

**Minimum Qualifications**:
**KSAs**:

- Ability to administer oral, ear and eye medications.
- Ability to clean cage thoroughly and thoughtfully with consideration to patient comfort and well being.
- Ability to travel to campus during inclement weather to care for animals during closings and holidays.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Previous animal handling/care experience.
- Experience with animal care facilities maintenance.
- Must have reliable transportation during inclement weather.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience working in a kennel or Veterinary practice.
