**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Certified Classroom Teachers play a vital role in helping our students achieve AAED’s mission of assisting every student with autism to be equipped and able to achieve academic, social, and behavioral excellence in an environment centered on strong character values. Teachers implement individualized education plans (IEPs), provide direct instruction, and support students in the classroom, on the playground, and in the community.- Manage educational programming for students in the classroom, including creating, completing, updating, and implementing IEPs; facilitating online meetings in accordance with all policies.-
- Provide online whole and small group instruction and create lesson plans using AAED approved curriculum to be turned in weekly.-
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with AAED students, parents, management, administration, faculty, and staff to maintain a positive environment to encourage the personal, social, and academic growth of all students.-
- Collect, analyze, and report data in a meaningful manner on student goals including assigned students’ virtual attendance, lesson participation, assignment completion, and grading.-
- Celebrate the achievements and successes of each student with staff and parents.-
- Maintain professional conduct and appearance.-
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.-
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.-
- Communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, families, businesses, and the public at large using exemplary written, verbal, and listening skills.-
- Demonstrate conflict management skills by actively listening, finding solutions to problems, and working well with difficult people.-
- Perform any other duties or tasks directed by AAED management and/or that are necessary to ensure AAED’s mission is carried out.-
- Be able to maintain a weekly work schedule of 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Monday-Friday.-
- Attend all online special events planned with the team.-
- Comply with all local, state, and federal rules, regulations, and laws, including but not limited to all anti-harassment, privacy, and workplace safety laws and regulations.-
**Education and/or Work Experience Requirements**:
- Valid Teaching Certificate (Special Education preferred)
- Teaching experience, Special Education preferred
- Valid IVP Arizona fingerprint clearance card
- Quiet, private workspace in a separate room with a door
- High speed internet services at the home
- Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to exercise reasonable judgment and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly with parents and education professionals.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
**Work Environment/Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to approach emotionally charged situations with balance and empathy.
- The Online Teacher position operates in a professional educational/office environment.
- This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, tablets, devices, phones, and other technology along with maintaining home internet services. Employee is responsible for maintaining high-speed internet connection
- Maintain independent mobility.
- Ability to view large volumes of written materials via computer screen and/or records/correspondence/documentation for extended periods of time.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Sit for extended periods of time.
- Stand or bend over repeatedly throughout the day.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
