**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**

**Background Investigation**: Applicants selected for these positions must pass an extensive background investigation, as well as verification of employment history. Employment may be denied to applicants who have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony in the following areas: crimes of violence, domestic violence and drug related offenses.**Trave**l**: Travel throughout the County may be required for some positions. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.**Working Conditions**: The work environment may involve exposure to assaultive and combative patients, hazardous and infectious materials and communicable diseases.**Physical Requirements**: Frequent sitting, occasional walking, standing, bending, and reaching above and below shoulder level and carrying up to 10 pounds.**Work Schedule**: Applicants must be available to work all shifts including day, swing, night, rotating, weekends and holidays.**Minimum Requirements**:
**License**:Must possess and maintain a Psychiatric Technician's license with the state of California.

**Certification**:Must possess and maintain Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support certification.**_
Note:_**_ Psychiatric Technicians assigned to inpatient hospital settings must possess and maintain an active and non-expired _**_Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) _**_certification. Indicate your level of certification in the Supplemental Questionnaire._

**Desired Qualifications**:

- Applicants fluent in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, Tagalog, and/or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional compensation is associated with positions requiring the use of bilingual skills. Testing of bilingual skills may be required to receive additional compensation.
