**I.:
The purpose of this position is to perform laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of solid, liquid, and gaseous materials for such purposes as quality and process control.


**II. **PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Sets up, adjusts, calibrates and operates laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Cleans and maintains laboratory equipment.
- Prepares chemical stock solutions according to standard formulas and samples for testing.
- Tests materials used in processes for presence and content of elements or substances.
- Tests samples of manufactured products to verify conformity of specifications.
- Records test results on standardized forms and prepares test reports using MS Excel.
- Follows written standard work instruction and standard operating procedures.
- Performs environmental sample analysis such as TCLP and, test water samples for trace metals and pH.
- Establishes formulation required to meet specifications of materials in process, manufactured products and water and provides instructions of the formulation.
- Complies with all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping programs.
- Other duties as assigned.

**III. **PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 - 3 years equivalent experience in a Laboratory
- Completion of college math and chemistry courses or equivalent experience.
- Good PC skills including Excel

**IV. **POST-HIRE TRAINING REQUIREMENTS**:

- Environmental training applicable to the job
- Safety training for applicable equipment
- Job instructional training
- Quality system familiarization
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001and OHSAS 18001 awareness. Plant EMS objectives and targets
- Significant environmental air aspects and impacts (plant)
- JTE (Lean manufacturing).

**V. **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT**:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk or sit. Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment.

Pay: $27.17 - $28.94 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
