Building and Property Technician

**Overview**:
The Building & Property Technician is responsible to ensure that the maintenance, repair, sanitation, and cleanliness are kept to a high standard and that all outside and equipment maintenance is timely. This position is responsible for working in collaboration with all staff and reporting any problems or concerns regarding his/her work area(s) to the supervisor.

**Specific Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with the Director of Property and Facility Operations on daily responsibilities and specific projects for all Agency locations.
- Daily and Project responsibilities include:
Complete in-house projects

Complete work orders as assigned.

Assist in maintaining preventative maintenance plans for all systems as assigned.
- Adhere to the agency’s policies and procedures as well as the personnel manual.
- Ensure that the daily, weekly, monthly routine for cleaning and maintenance of properties is done.
- Complete work orders as assigned and present a cost summary of the assignment.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and keep confidential all information regarding employees, volunteers, residents and guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience and expertise in building maintenance and property management necessary.
- Knowledge of building mechanical systems essential.
- Knowledge of NYS and OSHA safety regulations required.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds needed. Valid, clean NYS Driver’s License and ability to provide own transportation.

**Essential Functions**:

- Will work in an environment that provides services to the homeless and diverse population.
- Will work with computers to communicate with agency employees and outside vendors.
- Ability to use and supervise use of building maintenance equipment/, cleaning projects and tools.
- Will to work full time during normal business hours on a regular basis.
- Will effectively handle conflict and/or confrontation in order to reach a resolution satisfactory to all parties.
- Will work under deadline pressure to meet established work goals. May also include ability to work hours above normally scheduled work hours to accomplish same.
- Will effectively communicate (both orally and in written form) with subordinates, peers, and superiors.
- Will represent the agency in a professional manner to all parties with which she/he comes into contact.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
