Dog Walker

We are seeking a responsible and passionate individual to join our team as a Dog Walker. As a Dog Walker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and happiness of our clients' furry companions. You will be responsible for providing exercise, mental stimulation, and companionship to dogs while adhering to safety guidelines and ensuring their overall welfare.

**Responsibilities**:
1. **Dog Walking**: Safely and effectively walk dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments in accordance with clients' instructions

2. **Exercise and Play**: Engage dogs in physical activities such as brisk walks, jogging, and playtime to promote their health and fitness.

3. **Route Planning**: Plan efficient and safe walking routes, considering factors such as traffic, weather conditions, and dog preferences.

4. **Supervision**: Monitor dogs closely during walks to ensure their safety and prevent any potential conflicts with other dogs, people, or wildlife.

5. **Basic Training**: Reinforce basic training commands provided by the owners, such as sit, stay, and loose leash walking.

6. **Communication**: Maintain open and clear communication with clients, reporting on each walk's progress, any behavioral observations, and notable incidents.

7. **Record Keeping**: Keep accurate records of the walks, including start and end times, distances walked, and any special notes about the dog's behavior or health.

8. **Cleanliness**: Clean up after dogs during walks and properly dispose of waste in accordance with local regulations.

9. **Dog Socialization**: Facilitate safe and positive interactions between dogs when appropriate and under the supervision of the owner's guidelines.

**Requirements | Must**:

- Must live in or adjacent to our service area.
- Have at least 2 Weekends a Month Availability.
- Have access to a reliable, insured vehicle and have a valid driver's license.
- Be 100% reliable (Peninsula Dog Walkers do their best to cover in cases of emergencies, but this is not a job where "calling out sick" is tolerated, as the pets in your care depend on you.)
- Be able to provide professional references.
- Submit to a background check.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 - 20 per week
