**Fire Alarm Service Superintendent **manages and oversees work of service technicians, provides technical field service and support to the team and customers, and responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and budgeting for small to medium size renovation projects.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Uphold the highest ethical behavior when dealing with customers, vendors, and other employees.-
- Perform a minimum of 3 audits per technician a month.-
- Perform at least one ride-along per technician a month.-
- Perform at least 1 QC tour and follow up with the customers a week.-
- Perform field service escalations on complex issues as necessary.-
- Perform high level troubleshooting of fire alarm systems of all makes and models.-
- Perform complex programming of FA systems.-
- Complete a minimum of one vehicle inspection per month.-
- Perform quarterly goal setting and performance target review with assigned technicians.-
- Complete yearly technician performance reviews and goal setting within assigned timelines.-
- Support sales as needed.-
- Provide training and assistance to technicians as needed.-
- Keep Service Manager informed at all times of situations in the field.-
- Make consistent team-building management decisions at all times.-
- Follow through on additional activities or responsibilities as requested by upper management.-
- Ensure all service technicians have all tools, trainings needed to perform job responsibilities.-
- Maintain a service force in which all service employees have the capacity to work and produce results, meeting or exceeding performance standards.-
- Make effective, timely termination decisions; ensure proper staffing in the service team.-
- Assume all responsibility for company decisions in the eyes of the subordinates.-
- Give comprehensive new hire training to all service personnel to include all aspects of the service personnel job description.- Manage small to medium size projects, 5 to 10 persons
- Schedule the project in logical steps in order to budget enough time required to meet deadlines
- Determine labor requirements and dispatch technician to sites
- Negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Monitor project budgets in order to ensure positive cash flow and to maintain profitability
- Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations
- Ability and willingness to obtain a Fire Alarm Systems NICET I and/or Fire Alarm Systems NICET II in the future to further education at MCDEAN.

**TOOLS/SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS**
- MS Office Suite of products
- SharePoint
- Various manufacturers FA programming software
- Keypad programming for various FA Systems

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE OR EQUIVALENT**
- 10 years of experience in Fire Alarm or
- 2 years technology degree and 8 years of experience in Fire Alarm
- High School Diploma (required)

**PHISICAL AND PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
- Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
- Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
- Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
- Identify and understand the speech of another person.

**Preferred Certifications**:

- NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level I
- NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level II
- NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level III
