**Summary**

Briefly describe the major duties and responsibilities of the position.

The Floor Care Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all hospital walking surfaces, both carpet and tile, as well as upholstered furniture in accordance with departmental procedures and hospital objectives. The Floor Care Technician may also perform Housekeeper tasks, linen and trash removal and terminal cleaning of isolation rooms or exam rooms as required.

Performs other related duties as assigned. This job description does not restrict the right of management to change, alter or reassign duties at any time with or without notice.

**Qualifications**

**EDUCATION**:HIGH SCHOOL or equivalent preferred

**EXPERIENCE**:1- 2 YEARS

**SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES**:

- Minimum of 12 (twelve) months experience burnishing, stripping and/or waxing floors preferred with working knowledge of operation and control of electrical equipment required to perform floor care.
- Must have a valid California driver license.
- Must be able to communicate floor care needs to leadership.
- Must be able to get along with others, accept instructions and suggestions.
- Must be able to comprehend and absorb new work methods.
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be fluent in spoken and written English with proficient writing skills.
- Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

**EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS**:Floor scrubbing machines, high speed burnisher, dust mop, wet/dry vacuum and utility cart.

Pay Range: $20.15 - $23.55 hourly **Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
