**Bishop Ireton High School**, a Catholic college preparatory school in Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking a **full-time Assistant Principal of Student Life**. This is a 12-month administrative position that reports directly to the Principal; someone who can effectively manage and coordinate student life efforts to steward the Catholic educational mission of our School. The official start date is July 1, 2024.

**Primary Responsibilities**:
**Planning and Student Activities**
- Works with the Head of School, Principal, faculty/staff, students and parents through the implementation of student activities, clubs and events throughout the school year
- Supervises Student Activities; manages the Student Life budget and staff for student events, activities, clubs and student organizations
- Member of the planning process for the school calendar, collaborating with the Facilities Admin Manager, Head of School, Principal and Chaplain
- Implements the school activities calendar, working with Facilities and the Communications department on permissions, scheduling and portal updates as needed throughout the school year for student and family needs
- Plans, establishes guidelines, and works with the Student Council moderators to implement Homecoming (activities to include week-long activities for spirit week and the Homecoming dance, coordinating with Student Life, Student Council, Athletics and Advancement Office); Winter Formal; Junior/Senior Prom; all Graduation events; and special student days including dress-out days
- Plans and implements the annual academic and service banquet in coordination with the instructional admin team
- Works in conjunction with Campus Ministry to plan Catholic Schools’ Week, Advent/Lenten service projects and activities, Schoolwide Service Day, and faith-based speakers
- Works in conjunction with Director of Diversity to plan multi-cultural events/speakers; is a member of the Diversity Council
- Collaborates with the Counseling Department, Special Services and the Nurses on student wellness programs

**Freshman Orientation and Advisory**
- Works with the instructional admin team to plan and manage the freshman orientation program and transfer orientation program
- Coordinates the Advisory program, to include providing advisors with all necessary programming information; working with the Counseling department and Director of Diversity to determine freshman and transfer advisory assignments; working with Campus Ministry to plan the Advisory retreat

**Discipline**
- Works with the Dean of Students’ office staff, Principal, security office and Head of School in response to discipline needs and student safety needs, including student attendance matters; provides evaluation of the Dean of Students’ office staff
- Collaborates with the Diversity Director on student activities/student matters as needed
- Works in coordination with the Principal and Counseling department to participate in conflict resolution meetings related to student issues

**Other Responsibilities**
- Admin liaison to the PTO
- Member of Instructional Admin Team, Senior Staff, Safety Committee, Diversity Council
- Assists with admin needs as needed for student wellness
- Other duties as assigned in accordance with school year needs

**Qualifications**
- A practicing Catholic in good standing
- Master’s Degree required, Master’s in Education or School Administration preferred
- Holds appropriate Virginia Administration and Supervision Certification or be eligible to obtain this certificate within three years of hire
- Supervisory experience in an administrative position
- Minimum three years teaching experience
- Experience with planning and executing student activities and events
- Ability to skillfully utilize the school’s administrative and instructional technology platforms and programs; and ability to skillfully navigate social media platforms
- Ability to lead and inspire a dedicated, professional faculty, staff and growing student body with great enthusiasm for providing a holistic, Catholic educational program for our students and their families
- Ability to multi-task projects and duties in a collaborative, diverse working environment
