Assists with the provision of patient centered care in an outpatient clinic. Performs various clinical support tasks under clinical supervision within the organization's established scope of practice guidelines to ensure efficient patient flow.

**Responsibilities**:
**Patient Care**:

- Prepare patients for sleep studies, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.
- Monitor patients during sleep studies, observing and recording vital signs and other relevant data.
- Assist with the fitting and monitoring of sleep-related equipment, such as CPAP machines.
- Educate patients on sleep hygiene, lifestyle changes, and equipment use.

**Administrative Duties**:

- Schedule patient appointments for sleep studies and follow-up visits.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including electronic medical records (EMRs).
- Coordinate with insurance providers for pre-authorizations and billing processes.

**Technical Support**:

- Calibrate and maintain sleep monitoring equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during sleep studies and assist technicians as needed.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions.

**Collaboration and Communication**:

- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other team members regarding patient care plans and progress.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment strategies.
- Collaborate with sleep center staff to optimize workflow and patient outcomes.

**Compliance and Safety**:

- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Follow infection control protocols and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Stay updated on industry guidelines, best practices, and safety standards related to sleep medicine.

**Qualifications**:

- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from an accredited program.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in sleep medicine or a related field.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and medical software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with attention to detail and multitasking capabilities.
- Knowledge of sleep disorders, diagnostic procedures, and treatment modalities is a plus.

**Working Conditions**:
Typically works in a clinical environment within a sleep center in a hospital setting.

May involve evening or overnight shifts to accommodate sleep study schedules.

Requires standing, walking, and lifting patients or equipment as necessary.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
