Responsible for performing a variety of financial activities including processing, recording, updating, and reconciling fiscal information; accounting support to other personnel; analyzing expenditures against budget, and assisting in other clerical functions as necessary.
- Act as a general accountant and assists in maintaining the financial accounting system including but not limited to budget transfers, journal entries, account reviews, proper account coding, etc.
- Performs reconciliations of cash, procurement card, and ledger account balances on a monthly basis for the purpose of maintaining accurate balances and complying with accounting practices.
- Monitors account balances and related financial activity for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, related revenues are generated, expenses are within budget limits, and/or fiscal practices are followed.
- Prepares monthly financial reports and others as needed.
- Assists auditors for the purpose of providing required information and coordinating necessary project activities for all audits.
- Researches discrepancies of financial information and/or documentation for accuracy and adhering to procedures prior to processing for action.
- Assists with PlanCon filings for the District.
- Assists with Reconciling Food Service Management Company invoices to ensure accuracy of charges, and that charges are in accordance with contract.
- Works with Food Services Secretary to assure the accuracy of Free/Reduce Meal Applications and Direct Certifications.
- Assists with on-site monitoring of the Food Services Program.
- Other duties as required by Supervisor.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
- Proven work experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role.
- Strong clerical skills, including organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and courteously both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Proficient computer skills including, Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with CSIU Financial Information System preferred.

$24.24 per hour after a successful 90-day probationary period.

12-month position, 7.5 hours per day (8:00 am to 4:00 pm) not including a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch.

Pay: From $24.24 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
