**Information about the role**

The David M. Rubenstein National Institute for Holocaust Documentation’s (Rubenstein Institute) major responsibility is to collect, preserve, and make available the historical record of the Holocaust and to support with its stewardship of the Collection of Record the Museum's wide-ranging efforts in the areas of research, exhibition, publication, education, and memorialization.

The primary purpose of the position is to image material from our manuscript collections at a rate of 700-1000 images a day according to USHMM standards, including technical specifications and file naming schemes in support of the Museum's growing digitization efforts.

This position is located in the Digital Resources and Coordination Branch in Bowie, MD. This is a full-time donated position (non-Federal) paid with the Museum’s private funds. Salary is commensurate with experience.

**Duties, and Responsibilities for the role**
- Digitize historic collections materials at a rate of 700-1000 images a day.
- Track, monitor and report progress of daily imaging.
- Handle fragile historic collections materials
- Ensure Museum provided standards are adhered to for all imaging assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications for the role**
- At least one year of experience imaging archival material using a medium format camera setup.
- Knowledge of file naming practices and metadata standards.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Experience working in a research library, museum, or archives setting.
- Initiative and Critical Thinking: Demonstrates ongoing interest in learning and contributes to organizational goals by taking greater responsibility than expected.
- Gathers, evaluates, and synthesizes information from observation and experience, to identify issues, recognize opportunities, and produce innovative solutions.

- Teamwork: Works cooperatively with others, inside and outside the team/Branch/Division/Office, to accomplish shared objectives. Actively listens to others and presents own ideas clearly, concisely, and accurately in written and oral form.

**Preferred Qualifications for the role**
- Experience with Capture One software preferred.
- Experience working in a research library, museum, or archives setting.
- Knowledge of archival cataloging and arrangement standards.
- Object or archival handling experience.
