**Veterinary Surgery Technician**

TrueCare _for pets_ is a 24-hour emergency and specialty animal hospital located in Studio City, CA. We are hiring for Veterinary technicians in our surgery department. With all the advantages of an established, well-managed practice, combined with opportunities for personal and professional growth, this may be your time. We currently offer specialty and emergency services with board certified specialists in oncology, internal medicine, surgery, and emergency critical care. **Requirements**:

- Minimum 3 years of veterinary technician experience (specialty experience preferred)
- RVT license preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary medicine and terminology
- Ability to communicate calmly, clearly, and effectively with both staff and clients
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Strong attention to detail and follow through
- Ability to handle high stress situations
- Knowledge of vital signs and when to alert a doctor regarding patient status.

**Essential Job Duties**:

- Ability to perform veterinary technician duties. Including but not limited to: venipuncture, IV catheter placement, basic drug calculations, fluids and CRIs, radiology.
- Obtain and run/process lab samples.
- Monitoring advanced anesthesia cases
- Understanding of patient anesthetic monitoring parameters
- Understanding of veterinary surgical procedures
- Understanding of drugs used in anesthesia
- Assisting veterinarians with exams, procedures and ultrasounds.
- Restraint of both dogs and cats
- Comfortable with IV/IM/SQ injections
- Urine collection via cystocentesis (K9 and feline)
- Placement of bandages and splints
- Stocking and cleaning
- Willing to learn how to run CT

- 10 hour shift

**Experience**:

- Veterinary Technician Experience: 3 years (required)

License/Certification:

- Veterinary Technician Certification (preferred)
