TAR Mechanical Planner (START DATE- June 2024, Long-Term) _**Previous FERTILIZER Experience Required**_

**Location**: Fertilizer Plant, Southeastern Iowa, USA (On-site)

**Position Type**: Full-time, W2

**Experience**: Minimum of 5 years of Mechanical TAR Planning with specific experience in the fertilizer industry

**Job Duration**: June 10, 2024 - September 25, 2026

**Job Schedule**:

- June 10, 2024 - January 2, 2026: 40 hours per week
- January 5, 2026 - July 3, 2026: 5 days a week, 10 hours a day

**Hourly Pay Rate**: Competitive, DOE

**Per Diem**: Paid at 7 days GSA rates

**Responsibilities**:
**Planning Phase**
- Validate job scope with Operations to ensure clear definitions and expectations.
- Input validated job scope into planning software.
- Assign technical data to jobs in planning tool (PID#, torque specs, etc.).
- Support turnaround specialists in planning efforts through mentoring and technical support.
- Work with operations to get unit-specific data (blind lists, decom lists, chemical cleaning requirements).
- Gather quotes from vendors, compile in folders and communicate this info with the cost department.
- Assist turnaround specialists in resolving field/drawing discrepancies.
- Validate completed plans.
- Coordinate materials strategy with purchaser and materials coordinators (i.e. surplus usage, materials on order, items bagged and tagged, etc.)
- Develop/Review/Approve project schedule and resource requirements.

**Execution Phase**
- Facilitate daily safety and update meetings.
- Assign work areas/packages and monitor progress, eliminating roadblocks when they arise.
- Review 3 shift look ahead and update priorities.
- Validate and track AWR and delay logs.
- Validate manpower needs through scheduler data and monitoring work fronts in the field.
- Validate contractor progress to ensure accurate forecasting.
- Ensure contractors staff and de-staff according to current plan.

**Ongoing Efforts**
- Maintain a safe and sanitary workplace.
- Constantly monitor clients' planning practices and suggest improvements where you see fit.
- Participate in Risk reviews and Lesson Learned meetings.
- Mentor other turnaround specialists on industry standards.
- Assist the Turnaround Team with all other duties assigned.

**Job Requirements**
- PREVIOUS FERTILIZER EXPERIENCE (required)
- A minimum of 5+ years of previous mechanical TAR planning experience
- Ability to read and comprehend written safety procedures, work procedures, blue prints, P&IDs, work permits, and technical instruction manuals is required.
- A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity in the use of tools and equipment is required.
- Basic computer skills such as opening, creating and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets is required.
- The ability to assume responsibility, prioritize and respond to multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
- The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business like and professional manner is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $65.00 - $72.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 84 per week
