Eligibility/Authorization Specialist provides data entry functions and assists with the agency eligibility and authorization
processes. Ensures accurate and timely entry of all authorizations and benefits for services and submissions requested.

Job description includes, but is not limited to the following:
A. Obtains insurance benefits and authorizations for new and current patients.
B. Verifies insurance benefits on incoming referrals in a timely manner
C. Receives and transmits incoming and outgoing facsimiles.
D. Report to Reimbursement Supervisor any concerns or issues with authorizations or any reason not to
bill.
E. After authorizations are obtained, relay information to intake coordinator.
F. Assist with billing as directed.
G. Maintains confidentiality of all patient information.
H. Performs job in compliance with agency policies and procedures.
I. Assists employees with anything they may need.
J. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

1. Requires a pleasant and cheerful demeanor, shows an attitude of helpfulness and
cooperation, and the ability to encourage, mentor, and support fellow workers on a daily
basis and while encountering stressful situations. Will be required to effectively and efficiently carry out the duties of this position.

2. Requires in-depth understanding of a comprehensive field of knowledge normally attained through high school education. Position requires high school diploma or equivalent plus one year minimum prior experience in home health with private insurance, Managed Care, Medicare and Medicaid billing. Experience required.

3. Requires ability to accurately interpret Explanation of Benefits statements.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
