Job Title: Teacher Assistant Immediate Supervisor: Campus Director

Salary Range: $20,000.00 - $41,800.00 Contract Length: 187 Days

**Job Description**:
A teacher's aide job is to assist a teacher and reinforce the instruction taught in the classroom to students.

This can include reviewing lessons with students individually, answering questions or grading assignments.

Illustrative Duties:

- Assists teachers in planning, designing and implementing the curriculum.
- Provides assistance in preparing lesson plans.
- Imparts classroom instruction in accordance to lesson plans.
- Supervises and monitors students during class and when the lead teacher is not present.
- Assists students with carrying out classroom activities.
- Assists students at lunch time.
- Observes students for developmental issues and communicate findings to teachers.
- Implements age appropriate activities and monitor safety throughout.
- Researches information for lesson development.
- Communicates progress and observations to parents.
- Maintains student records.
- Assists in maintaining a clean and organized classroom.
- Ensures sanitation of all surfaces, equipment and toys.
- Assists students in social skills development.
- Assists in putting up bulletin boards.
- Accompanies young students to the bathroom.
- Assists in checking work books and homework.
- Operates equipment such as projectors and computers for instructional purposes.
- Assists in maintaining appropriate classroom discipline and decorum.
- Prepares and distributes worksheets.
- Delivers instruction in the absence of the teacher.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:

- 1 - 3 Years
- Experience in elementary or middle school preferred.

Educational Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of work experience is equivalent to one year of college requirements.

- Is reliable, punctual, and possesses great time management details (i.e. meets deadlines regularly).
- Exhibits the willingness and flexibility to accept change.
- Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into focus; judge distance (close and distant); reach with arms extended and use hands to manipulate the keyboard.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, twist, bend, climb, and/or be mobile.
- Ability to travel throughout the district and city by means of private or public transportation. If driving personal (or private) vehicle, must possess a valid driver’s license and appropriate insurance coverage.
