**Job Title**: Junior Field Technician
- **Location**: EPA Region 3 Sites (Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and West Virginia)

**Key Responsibilities: Fieldwork Assistance**:

- Assist in conducting field investigations, including groundwater sampling, soil sampling, and air monitoring.
- Support well installation, redevelopment, and maintenance activities.
- Help operate and maintain field equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.

**Data Collection**:

- Collect and record environmental data in the field, ensuring accuracy and compliance with EPA guidelines.
- Perform basic on-site measurements and tests, including water quality testing and soil gas surveys.
- Assist in data analysis and interpretation to support the development of site conceptual models and remediation strategies

**Quality Assurance and Compliance**:

- Implement and adhere to Quality Assurance Project Plans (UFP-QAPP) and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure all field activities comply with health and safety plans (HASP) and environmental regulations.
- Assist in field audits and inspections to identify and address any non-conformances.

**Reporting and Documentation**:

- Prepare basic field reports, including observations, measurements, and sample data.
- Maintain accurate records of field activities, equipment usage, and sample chain-of-custody.
- Utilize software tools for data entry and preliminary analysis.

**Team Collaboration**:

- Work collaboratively with senior field technicians, scientists, and project managers to ensure project objectives are met.
- Participate in site visits, fieldwork, and systematic planning meetings as needed.
- Provide support to other team members and contribute to a safe working environment.

**Qualifications: Education**:

- Associate’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.

**Experience**:

- Entry-level position; 1-2 years of experience in environmental fieldwork or related field.
- Experience in groundwater sampling, soil sampling, and air monitoring preferred.
- Familiarity with field equipment operation and maintenance is a plus.

**Skills**:

- Basic understanding of field investigation techniques and environmental sampling methods.
- Proficiency with basic field equipment and software tools for data collection and analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a project team.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in environmental fieldwork.
