R&d Chemist

Job Overview:
We are looking for a Research and Development Chemist to develop new products and product improvements, research new business opportunities, and assist in quality control for the company.

Repsonsibilities:

- Develop and improve products in têxtiles, upholstery fabrics, wall covering and other building interior surfaces.
- Develop innovative medical products for hospitals, surgery centers, funeral homes, and tissue banks.
- Research new coating formulations and additives
- Design coating process innovations
- Experiment with digital and 3D printing
- Work with suppliers to conduct experiments and run trials to develop new products
- Benchmark testing of competitive products
- Find and develop new suppliers
- Assist in the lab and with quality control

**Requirements**:

- BS in Materials, Chemistry, Plastics, Textiles or Chemical Engineering
- 2 + years working in plastics, coatings, or têxtiles
- Demonstrated success in creativity and problem solving
- Skill negotiating with suppliers
- Ability to conduct hands-on testing, experiments, and production trials
- Independent worker with organizational skills, initiative and a strong work ethic
- Willing to work safely with chemicals in an industrial setting
- Ability to adapt to multiple tasks and changing priorities
- Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint and good writing skills.
- Willing to occasionally travel

Pay: $41,600.00 - $52,000.00 per year
