Veterinary Receptionist

Who we are:
Norwich Regional Animal Hospital is ready to hire an experienced Patient Care Coordinator to join our small but mighty team.

We are a one-vet small animal general practice with a diverse clientele. We balance our schedule, so we are never double booked and have room to see urgent cases. We have two exam rooms, a treatment room, a lab, a surgery suite, and radiographs.

We are open Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, and full time is 4 days a week.

We are a true team, and collaboration is the name of the game. We ensure that all staff get what they need while also caring for our clients. The education and lived experiences of each of us, from our cat-savvy hospital manager to our dog sport competitor vet assistant, are valued and listened to.

For the health of our patients and the well-being of our staff, we're looking for the right person to round out the team—and we're willing to take our time to find the right fit. We want whoever we add to the mix to be happy here for a long time.

Our Patient Care Coordinator is responsible and trained for all front-line operations, including:
- Providing compassionate care to patients and clients.- Responding to client communications.- Is the first point of contact for our clients, both in person and on the phone.- Scheduling appointments and having a deep understanding of our calendar.- Communicating with other hospitals to request medical records and coordinate referrals.- Managing client accounts and accurately documenting communications.- Preparing estimates for procedures and discussing financial commitments with clients.- Building initial rapport and long-term relationships with pets and clients, successfully communicating plans and estimates to owners.- Communicating within the team and proactively managing the needs of the clients.- Operating practice management software (AVImark) and related software platforms.

Our new Patient Care Coordinator is someone who:
- Has excellent administrative skills, such as phone etiquette, strong organizational and time management abilities, is proficient in computer skills and navigating the internet, and can discuss financial arrangements effortlessly.- Balances clients' needs with the medical staff's time and focus.- Has excellent interpersonal communication and social skills.- Exudes patience, calmness, and caring while maintaining boundaries with clients.- Has experience in animal medical settings.- Is comfortable working independently as medical staff are often in another part of the building.

**Requirements**:
- High school diploma or equivalent- A positive attitude and being a team player- Able to multitask with an attention to detail- Experience recognizing your limits and asking for help as needed- Strong work ethic and track record of being reliable
