Performs advanced, diversified and confidential secretarial and administrative duties requiring broad and comprehensive experienceand skilled knowledge of organization policies and practices for the Director of Patient Accounting.

**Responsibilities**:
Answers phone calls, routes callers, takes messages and resolves routine and some complex inquiries.

Screens calls and visitors.

Distributes incoming mail.

Orders supplies.

Establishes and maintains personnel, vendor, and managed care contract files and records on an ongoing basis.

Schedules and maintains calendar of appointments.

Organizes meetings including distributing materials, arranging for refreshments, transcribing minutes and making travel arrangements if necessary.

Works independently on special projects.

Composes and types routine and non-routine correspondence, reports, special projects, technical papers, etc.

Creates, prepares and coordinates presentations, including charts, graphs, etc.

Creates and maintains databases and spreadsheets.

May assist in preparing and/or monitoring budget and monthly invoicing/expense information.

Works with sensitive employee information and confidential organization information.

Interacts professionally with all levels of management.

Telephone insurance carrier/patients to seek resolution on account

Negotiate within specified guidelines with patients

Review VIP accounts, including the patient's financial account history, credit report(s), Guarantor Financial Statement Application (GFSA) and eligibility for local/state/federal assistance programs. Complete issue resolution is expected.

Efficiently and accurately utilize the billing and collections computer system(s) to enter appropriate information

Evaluate VIP accounts for insurance eligibility accuracy, precertification, appropriate contractual adjustment and insurance payment and the administration of payment plan options as necessary.

Work closely with staff in resolving patient complaints and concerns while working to increase overall patient/customer satisfaction

Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of all third party reimbursement requirements and/or thorough knowledge of collection agency procedures.

Demonstrate a positive attitude, professional appearance, and effectively communicate with the patient and outside vendors in a professional manner.

Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Other Related Functions

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures.

Prioritizes work load to manage multiple priorities.

Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, and workshops.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
**Education/Training**
High School diploma or equivalent. Typing speed of 60 wpm required. Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and/or database software, preferably Microsoft Office-based products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

**Licensure/Certification**
None.

**Experience**
Three (3) years clerical or secretarial experience or one year clerical or secretarial experience and two years Patient Accounting experience.
