Adjunct Lecturer Positions in The Master of Science

**Department**:MCC Masters Engineering Design and Innovation

Adjunct Lecturers are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in the designated discipline/field of study to students from a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. Teaching may include a variety of formats: face to face, remote, and online. Adjunct Lecturers are employed based on student enrollment and staffing needs. The adjunct faculty contract contains no expectation or guarantee of continued employment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and teach assigned courses at assigned class meetings, based on course catalog description and approved course outline;
- Prepare and objectively grade class assignments and exams within a timely manner, in accordance with course outcomes;
- Maintain accurate, transparent student records;
- Adhere to all administrative university policies such as the timely submission of completed midterm and final grades;
- Maintain appropriate professional development to stay current within assigned courses;
- Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics; and
- Other duties as assigned by contract and/or by the Course Coordinator including assessing course(s) taught for continuous improvement.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Extensive professional experience and achievement in Design Innovation; Academic background in Engineering, Product Design, relevant Design disciplines, Social Science or a closely related field; Teaching experience at the college level; and Solid verbal and written communications skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Extensive professional experience and achievement in Design Innovation; Master’s degree or above
- in Engineering, Product Design, relevant Design disciplines, Social Science, Business or a closely related field; Teaching experience at the college level; Solid verbal and written communications skills; and familiarity with learning management systems (eg Canvas).
