New Village Academy, a small public charter high school opening in Fall 2024 in Annapolis Maryland, is seeking a dedicated and innovative team to create a new school community together

Co-designed by high school students and Annapolis community leaders, New Village is committed to “High School Done Differently” using Equity as our Foundation, the Science of Motivation as our Playbook, and the City of Annapolis as our Classroom. Our small size fosters a close-knit community where every student is known as a unique individual, ensuring that no one "falls through the cracks." Our project-based learning model and emphasis on internships, apprenticeships, and dual enrollment in college ensure that students are fully prepared for the future they envision for themselves.

We are looking for highly organized administrative team members who are adaptive, reflective, collaborative problem-solvers ready for the challenge of creating a unique new school in a diverse community.

**Responsibilities**:

- Administrative Management:

- Organize and implement administrative activities to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Manage and procure office supplies, equipment, and facilities.
- Registration and Records Management:

- Enroll new students and families.
- Oversee annual admissions lottery and waiting list.
- Maintain paper records and online databases and ensure compliance with AACPS and New Village Academy records policies.
- Community Relations:

- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, vendors, and the community.
- Serving as initial point of contact between families, community members, and the school.
- Managing phones, front entrance admission, and support arrival and dismissal of students.
- Scheduling and Administrative Support:

- Managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings for Principal, and sometimes Business/Operations Manager.
- Gathers and prepares data and reference materials for Principal
- Write correspondence, prepare reports, documents, spreadsheets, and presentations as required
- Provide general administrative support to School Leadership - Principal/ED and Operations/Business Manager
- Financial Administration:

- Assist Business Manager with budget management and financial record-keeping.
- Processing invoices, managing petty cash, and other financial tasks.
- Problem Solving:

- Resolving administrative problems and issues raised by staff and students.
- Implementing solutions to improve office/school efficiency.
- Event Planning:

- Organize school events, celebrations, and Navigation Team meetings.
- Technology Management:

- Overseeing the use of office technologies and ensuring systems are updated and maintained
- Collaborating with IT support for technical issues.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum High School diploma, plus 2 years experience OR Bachelor’s degree.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- High-functioning, innovative, and collaborative spirit.
- Positive problem-solving skills and flexibility in a start-up environment.
- Strong organization and project management skills.
- Ability to relate to students and families in a consistently warm and welcoming manner.
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, bookkeeping, business English, spelling, and commercial arithmetic.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form with colleagues, staff, administrators and the general public.
- Ability to exercise tact and good judgment
- Ability to operate various office equipment such copier, fax, printer, scanner, etc.
- Ability to manage databases
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
- Some knowledge of marketing and social media preferred.

**Salary and Benefits**:

- Anne Arundel County Public Schools union-negotiated Unit IV salary scale. Pay range $38,000-$53,000.
