**Seaward Services is seeking a Port Captain for our Hornblower Wind CTV operation.**

**About You**:
This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

**About the Opportunity**:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Port Captain will be responsible for overseeing daily vessel operations. The position requires administrative skills focusing specifically on crew management and scheduling. The Port Captain will also work with the HR team to ensure all vessel related safety issues are covered at vessel familiarization walkthroughs.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Program Manager in oversight of day-to-day operations of various sites and vessels in the execution of services to customers
- Implement operational efficiencies, with a focus on metrics and goal-setting, and support the operations of the company in support of its goals
- Contribute to the Company’s vision and strategy
- Support the overall process of management and corporate decision-making to ensure the organization maximizes its short, medium, and long-term profitability
- Liaise with other management personnel on the implementation of the company’s strategic and operational plans
- Manage crewing of vessels ensuring that qualified personnel are assigned and unassigned in a timely manner as required by contract.
- Maintain the Company’s maritime training program. This shall include the tracking of licenses and ratings and proficiencies
- Provide support to vessel masters and site managers with regard to company-wide programs and systems, with particular emphasis on systems that address safety and regulatory issues
- Support ISM Safety Management Systems and ISO Quality Management Systems and subsequent certification and documentation, and liaise with Corporate Safety and Quality Director
- Assist with investigating safety accidents/incidents and eliminate identified deficiencies
- Support the Director of Operations as the senior liaison regarding regulatory issues
- Demonstrate financial management and budgeting skills
- Make sound business decisions based on data and statistics
- Utilize the latest technology to enhance the growth of the organization
- Maintain effective key agency relationships
- Prudently manage resources within budgetary guidelines according to company policy and within ethical corporate governance guidelines
- Maintain an organizational culture, values, and reputation in Company markets and with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies
- Manage schedule and vessel crew changes, coordinating travel and hotels as required
- Maintain training and Crew competencies and tracking systems, both internal and external
- Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations
- Attend pertinent association and industry events as required
- All other duties as assigned

**Requirements & Qualifications**:

- 5 years minimum maritime industry experience, with excellent career record
- Seagoing experience in the deck or engineering department on a U.S. Coast Guard Oceans license
- Minimum B.S. in a maritime or related field of study strongly preferred (or combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent level of knowledge of operations management)
- 4 or more years operating on a vessel of unlimited tonnage in international trade
- High-Speed Craft experience preferred
- Sound working knowledge of USCG and IMO regulations and requirements
- Computer literacy in conjunction with administrative skills
- Ability to use independent judgment and discretion to develop and execute innovative solutions to problems
- Possess and demonstrate superior judgment, analytical ability, performance under pressure
- Thoroughly understand all pertinent regulations and laws under which the Company operates
- Communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
- Logically and independently plan, organize, and complete work assignments
- Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal skills
- Set and achieve high standards of performance
- Demonstrate initiative and be able to make progress on multiple assignments under time constraints
- Good project and time management skills
- Knowledge of business and management principles
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Willing to travel locally, nationally, and internationally and work flexible hours

**Salary: $75,000**
