Direct Support Professional/caregiver

Hours: 9pm-4am

This position provides the basic daily care that is required by the client. It assists the individual in attaining and maintaining maximum functional independence, personal hygiene, medication administration as well as, supports and promotes the rights of the client.
- Must communicate verbally and in writing in a professional and courteous manner.
- Must articulate clearly.
- Must be able to communicate (speak, read, and write) in English.
- Must be reliable in attendance and timeliness to work schedules.
- Must have hearing and vision correctable to normal ranges.
- Must demonstrate organizational skills.
- Ability to use body mechanics in controlling unpredictable behavior.
- Ability to participate in physical activities.
- Must demonstrate basic math skills (addition and subtraction).
- Must demonstrate time management skills through the successful completion of essential duties and assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Must observe the environment using the various physical senses.
- Must have at least two years of experience working with IDD Clients.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
- Valid Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Current Auto Insurance and the ability to maintain current auto insurance the duration of hire
- Must pass a Criminal Background check (No DUI convictions in the past 10 years, No convictions for crimes of violence, substance abuse or of a sexual nature)
- Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.50 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- Overnight shift

**Education**:

- High school or equivalent (required)

**Experience**:

- Caregiving: 1 year (required)

Shift availability:

- Day Shift (required)
- Night Shift (preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

- Clear Lake, TX: Relocate before starting work (required)
