We are seeking a customer-focused and team oriented individual to join our grocery store as a Meat Clerk. As a Meat Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers have access to high-quality meat products while maintaining a clean and organized meat department.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Customer Assistance**:providing exceptional customer service by assisting customers with meat selections, answering questions, and offering cooking recommendations
- **Stocking and display**: ensuring the meat display is well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing. Regularly rotating products to maintain freshness
- **Truck unloading**: Assisting in unloading meat deliveries from trucks, checking product quality, and promptly stocking inventory in the meat department
- **Meat Case Setup/Takedown**: setting up the meat display case at the beginning of each day and taking it down at the end of the day, ensuring proper storage and cleanliness
- **Inventory Management**: monitoring meat inventory levels, conducting regular stock checks, and communicating with management to optimize product availability
- **Quality control**:inspecting meat products for freshness, quality, and adherence to established standards, promptly removing any items that do not meet quality criteria
- **Adherence to health and safety regulations**: following food safety guidelines, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices to comply with health regulations

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a meat department or grocery store setting is preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving moderately heavy meat products
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining an appealing work display
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $13.40 - $15.00 per hour
