- This position manages a plan examination unit and performs supervisory work in the engineering or architectural analysis of structures and building equipment systems, and the examination of plans for the construction, alteration or repair of buildings and equipment systems under the jurisdiction of the Department of Buildings.
- Under direction:
- Assigns plan examination workload to plan examination personnel.
- Trains, supervises, and evaluates plan examination personnel.
- Explains and enforces rules and laws relevant to the field.
- Testifies as needed, including at ECB, depositions, and court.
- Represents the Agency, as needed, at meetings and seminars.
- May be required to perform fieldwork to make on site determination of structural stability and safety.
- May operate a vehicle in performance of assigned duties.

Minimum QualificationsPreferred Skills- Knowledge of the NYC Construction Code and Zoning Resolution - Excellent written and verbal communication - Excellent organizational skills - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook- 55a ProgramThis position is open to qualified persons with a disability who are eligible for the 55-a program.
