- **2024-25 High School PE Teacher (Part-time) & Athletic Director (Part-time)**_

This is a Full-time position: Part-time High School P.E. teacher and Part-time Athletic Director.

- **PE Teacher Duties & Responsibilities**:_
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons to execute the knowledge and love of physical and health education;
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate physical fitness, health, rhythm and dance into planned academic instruction;
- Monitor student progress through frequent formal and informal student evaluations;
- Communicate weekly with families and other key stakeholders;
- Provide students with frequent and accurate academic feedback;
- Provide safety instruction, checks equipment and class area to ensure safety of students;
- Explain basic skills and knowledge of formal sports and games;
- Plans and coordinates the UDS Student Field Day.
- **Expectations of PE Teacher**:_

- **Athletic Director Responsibilities may include but are not limited to**_:

- Building and adding to the existing middle and high school sports programs
- Providing leadership and guidance for sports activities and programs
- Preparing budgets for athletic programs and allocating athletic funds
- Acting as liaison with selectors, leagues, and government agencies
- Coordinating with coaches on team game scheduling and practice sessions
- Preparing and presenting reports on team performance and needs for improvement
- Ensuring that students are eligible to participate in a given sport
- Head coaching, as needed
- **Expectations of Athletic Director**:_

The Athletic Director oversees and builds the sports and athletic programs of UDS student-athletes. We are currently looking for an experienced, innovative, effective communicator and leader to serve as part-time middle and high school Athletic Director, and part-time high school PE teacher. This role hires coaches and prepares budgets for team travel, training, equipment purchases, and facility maintenance. This person works with coaches and external agencies to help players succeed. The Athletic Director also participates in conferences, collaborates with league officials and coordinates umpires and referees. A Physical Education Teacher's license is preferred. A sports-related Masters Degree is preferred.
- **Qualifications**:_
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree or higher preferred);
- At least (1) year of teaching experience with record of improving student achievement;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences (including colleagues, students and families).
- Demonstrated professional behavior, including discretion, judgment and integrity.
- Other Requirements: 5 or more years of progressively responsible positions
- **Compensation**:_
- Based upon experience, degree/certification, NC State Salary Guide and Union County Supplement.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
