**Job Summary**
The IT Desktop Specialist provides maintenance of the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions. Supporting on-site in our Pasadena location, this role is responsible for administration and internal support of the Company’s PCs, printers, and related equipment.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction.
- Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk
- Monitor Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out based on priority
- Offer your support on a variety of computer hardware and software issues by identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems
- Utilize and maintain helpdesk tracking software
- Document internal procedures
- Assist with onboarding of new users
- Ensure each workstation has a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, and any additional specialized equipment
- Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software
- Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses
- Report issues to the Service Desk for escalation
- Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software
- Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory
- Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required
- Company phone system & cell phone support
- Refining and automating regular processes, tracking issues, and documenting changes.
- Assisting developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
- Performing scheduled maintenance and supporting release deployment activities, at times after hours.
- Assist in Dynamics GP Administration and Application support
- Provide support for Cavallo SalesPad Desktop / SPS EDI Performs additional duties as assigned.**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business, Communications or related field
- 5 years of Desktop support or related experience
- Microsoft Office 365 experience
- Experience with Active Directory
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Excellent communication skills including active listening
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Microsoft SQL Server database maintenance and report writing Knowledge of data modeling techniques for designing and representing database structures.**Preferred Skills (not required)**:
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP
