Dishwasher

Summary/Objective:
The Dishwasher is responsible for various tasks including but not limited to cleaning utensils, pots and pans, equipment, floors, and workstations. S(he) will work cooperatively with other members of the department to ensure quality execution in cleanliness and sanitation protocols of the kitchen and dining areas, while providing excellent service in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner. S(he) must follow current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, as well as the Company’s established policies and procedures, or as instructed by the Director of Dining Services.

Essential Functions 1. Assists with cleaning the kitchen and maintain a sanitary work area

2. Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, etc. using dishwashers or by hand

3. Ensures all kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils are clean, professional, and in an orderly condition at all times

4. Assists with bussing tables and cleaning the dining rooms

5. Places clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in proper storage areas

6. Removes trash to designated areas

7. Assists in unloading and unpacking supply trucks

8. Assists in kitchen prep and stocking the bistro and coffee bar

9. Assists in the set up and breakdown of community events

10. Ensures the workspace meets or exceeds all established sanitation and safety standards

11. Logs and records equipment temperatures

12. Requests supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and dishwashing duties

13. Other duties as assigned by management

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Frequent body movements include, lifting, moving, transferring, bending, stooping, squatting and reaching. Able to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects weighing up to 35 pounds, unassisted, with twisting and turning of the torso, and stand or walk for prolonged periods of time. The Associate is frequently required to use hands and fingers to touch, handle and feel, and required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Certifications, Licenses, Education and Experience and other Special Requirements Previous dishwashing experience preferred but not required. S(he) should have the ability to maintain a safe work environment and be able to multitask and maintain a fast pace while performing duties. The dishwasher will have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and have knowledge of, or the ability to learn, standard cleaning methods and equipment used in dishwashing work.

Pay: Up to $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
