Water Technician

**WATER TECHNICIAN**:
**Duties include but are not limited to**:

- Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Water Sewer Operations Manager
- Perform all duties required for proper operation of all town wells, pumping facilities, chemical feed systems as well as any other related equipment used in producing, storing and distributing potable water
- Maintain, repair and install water and sewer lines and appurtenances as needed
- Perform all duties required for proper operation of sewer collection and pumping stations
- Weekend duty when assigned
- Frequent physical effort demanded in lifting heavy objects, installing pipes, walking or climbing over rough terrain and maintaining trenches

**Qualifications & Experience**:
- High School Diploma
- Must have, at a minimum, a Massachusetts Class 1 Distribution or Class 1 Treatment Drinking Water Supply Operator's Licenses
- Valid CDL Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
- Must be on call for any water and sewer emergencies (i.e. snow and ice storms, hurricanes, broken water mains, etc.).

**Salary & Benefits**:
This is a full time, benefit eligible position; 40 hours per week. Salary range $22.80 - $33.47 per hour; union position

**Salary ranges & associated minimum qualifications**:
Water Tech II - $23.16 - $30.40 per hour, requires D1 or T1

Water Tech III - $24.07 - $32.92 per hour, requires D2 and T1, or D1 and T2

Water Tech IV - $24.98 - $32.82 per hour, requires D3 and T1, or D2 and T2, or D1 and T3

Water Tech V - $26.63 - $33.47 per hour, requires D3 and T2, or D2 and T3
