**Description**:
The Recoil operator shall operate in the functions of recoiling from uncoiled material per plant policies and procedures. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his/her shift.

**Working Conditions**:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when the weather is hot and cold when the weather is cold. Greasy, dirty, and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and products up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but is not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hard hats. Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

**1. Qualifications**:
1.1. A High School diploma or equivalent.

1.2. **Experience with operating automated equipment preferred.**

1.3. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.

1.4. Manual dexterity is required for operating, machinery, hand tools, and hand-held technical devices.

1.5. **Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and Recoil operation is a plus.**

1.6. Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require overtime and weekends when needed.

2. Responsibilities:
2.1. Responsible for recoil slits from the master coil.

2.2. Operate the recoil equipment and perform set-ups during changeovers.

2.3. Operation Monitoring - Watching indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

2.4. This position serves as a backup for the uncoil operator when necessary.

2.5. Review work orders and specifications to determine materials needed to be processed.

2.6. Employees must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.

2.7. Employees must follow the 5S implementation procedure.

3. Activities:
3.1. Inspecting equipment and or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

3.2. Monitor material behavior during the recoil process to detect or assess problems.

3.3. This position may require operating Forklift and Overhead Crane.

3.4. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.

3.5. Check that all machinery is properly serviced before starting up and during the shift

3.6. Assists in the repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.

3.7. Communicate with the crew to achieve a quality product.

3.8. Other duties as assigned.

4**. Authority and Obligation**:
4.1. This position has the authority to stop Recoil operation at any time that is deemed necessary for reasons of safety, quality, or priority.
