Job Description: Assistant General Manager, Caboose Commons

SUMMARY:
The Restaurant Assistant General Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation, including product preparation and delivery, customer relations, restaurant maintenance and repair, inventory management, team management, financial accountability, and ensuring that the highest quality products and services are delivered to each customer. The Assistant General Manager reports directly to the General Manager and Food & Beverage Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Controls day-to -day operations by ordering product & supplies, and developing the restaurant team members.
- Assists with controlling profit & loss, by maintaining inventory, managing labor, reviewing financial reports, and taking appropriate actions.
- Motivates and trains team members.
- Has authority to participate in hiring and termination decisions.
- Ensures that the Occupational Safety and Health Act, local health and safety codes, as well as the company safety and security policies are being adhered to.
- Ensures that the restaurant follows the preventative maintenance program with regards to facility, equipment, and grounds maintenance.
- Ensures a safe working and customer experience environment by facilitating safe work behaviors of the team.
- Maintains fast, accurate service, positive guest relations, and ensures products are consistent with company quality standards.
- Ensures food quality and 100% customer satisfaction.
- Ensures complete and timely execution of corporate & local marketing programs

QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree is preferred. Bachelor of Science degree in hotel/restaurant management is desirable. A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternative.
- Knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel, Some web-based design).
- Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports.
- ServSafe Manager required & MART (or must be acquired within first 30 days)
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must agree to background and credit check.

Knowledge of beer, coffee, wine, and cocktails strongly preferred.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Hours may vary if manager must fill in for his/her employees or if emergencies arise
- Ability to perform all functions at the restaurant front line level
- Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing

45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
- Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operates phones, computers, copiers, and other office equipment.

- Self-discipline, initiative, leadership ability and outgoing.
- Pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance.
- Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure that food and service meet appropriate standards.
- Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to restaurant problems.
- Must possess good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks such as food, beverage and labor cost while maintaining required standards of operation in daily restaurant activities.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
