Summary:

- Newton North High School's Theatre Department seeks a talented, energetic, dynamic, and engaging Director and Choreographer for our March 2025 Spring Musical Theater Production in our 600-seat theater. We will also consider a combined Director/Choreographer. Salary is competitive and will depend on experience. The Production Dates are March 20,21,22-2025 at 7:30 PM and March 23rd at 2:00 PM.
- Theatre Ink produces theater productions with an emphasis on collaboration, teamwork, professionalism, and education. We also provide full resources and support to give the production team the tools to create an extraordinary performance.
- Theatre Ink, Newton North's teaching and working theatre, produces 11-12 shows each year in a 200-seat Black Box Studio Theatre and 600-seat Auditorium. Our season includes a Main Stage and a Little Theatre musical. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):

- The Director will:

- Assist in hiring a choreographer for the production.
- Collaborate with the Music Director and Choreographer and develop a plan/vision for the show.
- Work with and collaborate with the Technical Directors and Student Designers on the Set, Light, Sound, Props, Costumes Hair, and Makeup designs and technical needs for the production.
- Work with the production team in preliminary design meetings (held in the fall before the rehearsal process begins) and develop a vision for the production.
- Attend weekly production meetings with the production staff throughout the process.
- Coordinate auditions and cast the production with the Music Director and Choreographer with input from the Producer. Auditions will take place in November 2024.
- Create and coordinate a rehearsal schedule with the Music Director and Choreographer. Rehearsals in the past have taken place after school from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The rehearsal period runs from the 1st week in January 2025 to March 23rd, 2025. We will have a read-through the last week in December before our school break.

Tech week is 3/10-3/16 which includes a sitzprobe with the pit orchestra and cueing the show on 3/15-3/16 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. 3/17-3/23 is production week and we will have 3 dress rehearsals and 4 performances.
