**Job Title: Material Handler (Aerospace Industry)**

**Overview**:
As a Material Handler in the aerospace industry, you are responsible for the efficient and organized movement of materials and components throughout the manufacturing and assembly process. Your role is critical in ensuring that production schedules are met, and materials are available at the right place and time to support manufacturing operations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Material Movement**: Safely and efficiently move materials, parts, and components between storage areas, production workstations, and assembly lines using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- **Inventory Management**: Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper storage and organization of materials in accordance with inventory control procedures. Perform cycle counts and periodic inventory audits to reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- **Material Handling Equipment Operation**: Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and hoists in compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- **Material Receiving and Inspection**: Receive incoming materials and verify quantities and specifications against purchase orders or packing slips. Conduct visual inspections for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to appropriate personnel.
- **Kitting and Assembly Support**: Prepare material kits and assemblies for production orders by gathering and staging the necessary components and parts according to assembly instructions and bill of materials.
- **Shipping and Receiving**: Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading trucks, preparing shipping documentation, and coordinating shipments with carriers to ensure on-time delivery.
- **Safety and Compliance**: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace. Follow regulatory requirements and company policies related to material handling, storage, and transportation.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Identify opportunities for process improvements in material handling operations to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize inventory management practices.
- **Communication and Collaboration**: Coordinate with production supervisors, planners, and other stakeholders to prioritize material flow and address any issues or delays in the supply chain.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in material handling or warehouse operations, preferably in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
- Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, shipping documents, and inventory records.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing inventory transactions and record-keeping.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices related to material handling and equipment operation.

**Job Type**: Contract

Pay: From $19.96 per hour
