**Who We’re Looking For**:
**Minimum Qualifications**:

- State of Arizona administrative certification. **_Applicants must have on file in the Human Resources Department a copy of the appropriate valid certificate or evidence of eligibility to be appropriately certified by the Arizona Department of Education._**:

- A strong commitment to service and personal accountability.
- A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience.
- The ability to make big ideas and complex concepts simple, easy to understand and compelling.
- Excellent organizational, written, communication and problem-solving/creative thinking skills.
- Performs other duties/tasks as assigned by the school principal.

**About the Role**:
Why the role exists:
The Dean of Students assists the building principal in leveraging processes and programs to improve student outcomes for subgroups identified by federal accountability guidelines(e.g. additional targeted support and improvement (ATSI) and targeted support and improvement (TSI)) and to meet the educational needs of all students. This position serves as a direct support to the building principal for all matters relating to student supports, student disciplinary policy, school master schedule, and school personnel (e.g. certified and classified staff).

Responsibilities & Deliverables:
Under the direction of the building Principal, the Dean of Students supervises student discipline, attendance, master schedule creation, school activities and records. Assists the principal in the daily operation of the school. The Dean of Students also assists the Principal in the observation and evaluation of a portion of the licensed personnel in the building.

The role will be responsible for proactively identifying information that has the potential to be impactful and elevate issues along with resolution options to the school principal in a timely manner. A key component of this is providing direct support and guidance to principals to improve the academic culture and conditions of schools to dramatically increase student achievement and teacher practice. The role will also ensure the provisions of equitable services.

Central to the role will be coordinating and executing strategies to ensure that the school principal can meet or exceed our district’s strategic plan goals while building on our rich traditions and our reputation with existing, past and future stakeholders.

Responsibilities and Deliverables:

- Ability to facilitate and lead Section 504 and IEP meetings.
- Prepare, develop and coordinate the school’s master schedule.
- Manage a variety of school administrative functions (e.g., student disciplinary policy, school schedule, assigned personnel, etc.) for the purpose of enforcing school, district and state policy and maintaining safety and efficiency
