**Patient Care Technician**

**NOVO Dialysis Management, LLC**, a leading provider of emergency medical services to Brooklyn, NY and the surrounding area, is currently seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our patient-centered community-based medical center. The Patient Care Technician is responsible for providing excellent patient care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of quality and safety.**Responsibilities**:

- _Assist with clinical and operational procedures to improve patient health and minimize hospitalizations and missed treatments_
- _Demonstrates effective use of supplies and staff labor hours_
- _Perform duties as assigned to meet the patient care and/or operational needs of the facility_
- _Obtain blood samples for lab analysis as required to complete physician orders_
- _May reinforce patient education as needed under the direction of the Facility Administrator, Clinical Coordinator or Registered Nurse_
- _Assist with programs target goals for patient outcomes in accordance with quality patient care and company goals_
- _Knowledge of and comply with appropriate healthcare professionals practice act requirements_
- _Perform duties at all times under the supervision of the Care Coordinator and within limits established by and in accordance with company policy and procedures, applicable state and federal laws and regulations_
- _Use appropriate safety measures including personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary_
- _Prepare machines for hemodialysis treatments_
- _Verify/respond to visual and audio alarms on machines; troubleshoot machine alarms as suitable_
- _Remove disposables and clean station after each treatment_
- _May be required to clean isolation room post treatment, if applicable_
- _Be familiar with emergency equipment and all emergency operational measures_
- _Obtain pre and post treatment weight of patient per protocol_
- _Safely initiate and terminate dialysis treatments per facility protocol and within scope of practice as allowed by state regulations_
- _Monitor patients during dialysis treatments_
- _Mix acids and bicarbonate according to procedure_
- _Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to patient treatment_
- _Stock hemodialysis carts and help maintain supply room_
- _Complete water testing on dialysis machines at the beginning of each treatment day and as directed by the Facility Administrator._
- _Complete/document quality control logs throughout the day and after all treatments, as required_
- _Take visual signs per protocol during patient treatment and document on treatment record as required_
- _Report any significant information or change in patient condition to the Clinical Administrator_
- _Report machine problems to the Biomedical Technician and Facility Administrator_
- _Participate in staff meetings as required. Attend in-services and continuing education sessions in compliance with company policy and procedure._
- _Assist with staff training as requested._
- _Participate in team concepts and promote a team effort, perform duties inaccordance with company policies and procedures_

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
