**Job Summary**

Little Water Prep Charter School is one that ensures that all children are held to the same bar of excellence. We realize that our students will enter at various levels, but it is our job to ensure we equip each scholar with the tools he/she needs to be successful. The **Special Education Coordinator **will be a member of Little Water Prep’s Scholar Support team and will be responsible for maintaining data and compliance systems for students with disabilities and coordinating whole-school assessment logistics. The **SPED Coordinator **will be responsible for ensuring that all Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) are implemented to fidelity, and that state and quarterly assessment windows are executed with fidelity. The Sped Coordinator will report to the Dean of Scholar Support and Empowerment.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Coordinating State & Quarterly Assessment Logistics**
- Execute all logistics (materials, timing, space, etc.) for seamless, accurate administration of assessments
- Support faculty and instructional leaders with the systems we use to administer our online assessments
- Prepare and distribute assessment materials
- Maintain integrity in security protocols & administration guidelines during administration of assessments
- Ensure assessment data is accurately entered into our Student Information System (SIS)

**Management of Scholar Support Services**
- Serve as an active member of the Scholar Support Team, meeting weekly for strategic planning and discussion of school initiatives
- Ensure student support services staff abide by IDEA and local regulations
- Oversee compliance of student support services files
- Own scheduling and holding IEP, SEP, Eligibility, and 504 meetings in a timely manner
- Maintain the special education database system (SEDS)
- Provide regular one-on-one counseling or group counseling to students and families
- Provide tier 2 and tier 3 intervention
- Provide all mandate counseling sessions as mandated by IEP’s
- Manage, track, and document student interactions and counseling schedule
- Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and confidentiality when working with students, parents, and staff

**Communication**
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, school leaders, and teachers
- Demonstrate the use of appropriate and effective techniques for engaging parents as they learn similar techniques to assist in the academic and/or development of his/her child

**Required Education**
- Bachelor’s degree required
- A minimum of 2 years teaching experience required
- Experience working with under-resourced communities, families, and/or students
- Demonstrated success in building relationships and trust with leaders, teachers, and parents
- Experience in managing and influencing teams and individuals to meet specific and strategic outcomes

**Schedule**
- Year-round position with general day hours of 7:00am-4:30pm
- After-hours and weekend events will be required and communicated in advance
- Full time, Non-exempt, 12- months
