- This position is an out of state position which allows the incumbent to complete their work in a state other than Arizona with or without accommodation. The incumbent may work in a remote, in-person, or hybrid modality.

The Center for International Education (CIE) at Northern Arizona University (NAU) has received the Paul Simon Award, and the Education Abroad unit within CIE has received the Heiskell Award. **Additionally,** **NAU is ranked in the top ten of all US Institutions according to IIE’s Open Doors for year-long study abroad programs. Our office handles over 300 programs in more than 50 countries. We send students abroad for a year, semester, summer, winter, or spring break and offer students additional opportunities through exchange, provider, intern, and faculty-led programs based on their academic, financial, and personal needs. The Interdisciplinary Global Programs (IGP) prepare students to graduate with two undergraduate degrees plus immersion in language and culture outside of the U.S. for one year. Specifically, students in IGP benefit from:

- Two undergraduate degrees from NAU (a STEM or Business degree + a Language or Cultural degree)
- Professional internship experience abroad
- Strong language proficiency

Job

**Responsibilities**:
Leadership & Personnel/budget Management - 40%
- Sets strategies for operations of IGP, including recruiting, retaining, and supporting students.
- Manages IGP budget and finance, including financial planning and budget/resource allocation.
- Leads, develops, and manages the team of IGP at CIE. This includes coaches, mentors and motivates staff; defines work goals and standards; evaluates individual and team performance on difficult work assignments; reviews completed work to verify technical soundness, in particular with complex or novel solutions.
- Expands and strengthens international academic host sites for IGP study semesters, identifying a network of support for students at each site.
- Expands and strengthens international internship opportunities for students and liaises with employers/providers.
- Collaborates with NAU academic departments and administrative units to ensure the success of IGP students.
- Develops, leads, and participates in the implementation of IGP strategic plans; monitors IGP team’s operational performance and service delivery.

Student recruitment and success - 35%
- Enhances, implements, and evaluates IGP programming, marketing, recruitment, and retention initiatives for a wide range of audiences.
- Oversees the development of and placement of students in internship and education abroad opportunities.
- In collaboration with academic departments, develops and strengthens strategies that enhance IGP students’ success and retention rate.
- Develops and strengthens recruitment strategies for IGP in collaboration with academic departments and Enrollment Management team.
- Oversees preparation of orientations and presents information to new IGP students and parents during orientation.

Program Management and Evaluation - 20%
- Designs and implements processes and tools to enhance the program; drive process improvement to deliver against growing and evolving needs.
- Oversees and develops project schedules, and reports on project management systems to improve project management and workflows.

Other - 5%
- Other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Undergraduate bachelor’s degree in relevant field; and
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience required; and
- 5-7 years of relevant experience, including:

- Experience developing international academic and internship partners.
- Excellent supervisory, organizational, and training skills.
- Experience in program development and execution; or
- Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Master’s degree in relevant field.
- Fluency in one or more languages, in addition to English.
