The Assistant Project Manager (APM) is in a unique position to assist the project manager in handling the many tasks which our projects dictate. The APM may at times be the link between the Customer and other members of the management team. There is exposure to all functions of project management including scheduling, budgeting and quality. From project review to project closeout, the APM helps to review, assess and advise each matter involving time, money, and quality. Working through the Project Manager and with the Project Superintendent, the APM is involved in day-to-day construction operations. Working in unison with the Financial and Estimating Departments, they monitor and report to the Project Manager the status of project schedule, submittals, and RFI’s. They review change proposals, evaluate the correctness and assess the impact on the project schedule. At times, they will advise the customer on scope changes, phasing coordination, subcontractor scheduling, and bidding processes.

**Responsibilities**:The APM has the responsibility to ensure that the Project Manager is accurately and fully informed of the status of any assignments and projects to which he is assigned. The major activities and responsibilities of the APM include:

- Gain familiarity with plans, specifications, agenda, and scope of each project managed
- Assist accounting department by coding and approving payments of all project related cost
- Assist in managing the field and project team successfully and collaboratively
- Manager project files and flow of information for assigned project
- Participate in developing and maintaining project schedule
- Draft subcontracts
- Assist with field quality control, subcontractor coordination, photo documentation, buyout activities, and project closeout
- Assist Project Manager with project financials and cost procedures
- Perform site walks and promote safe working practices
- Use project management and scheduling software consistently
- Other related duties as assigned or needed

**Education / Experience**:

- 2+ years of experience in the construction industry
- Good knowledge of project management; Ability to read plans
- Valid driver’s license
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate well with outside customers and subcontractors as well as all level of internal management and coworkers
- Ability to balance demand and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work independently
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in construction management or related field preferred, but not required

Compensation package:

- Weekly pay
